Darlin has a come-a-loose and other happenings

Well, it's been a while since I had a chance to post. The fam went camping a couple of weekends ago(Hello, Gayle! It was great to finally meet you!), and, well, let's face it, when you go camping, you need a few days to recover! As we were recovering, I began my new job, Buster came down with poison ivy which, the last time he had it, we ended up at the doctor's getting a shot of cortisone. Darlin also has poison ivy on her neck and face (horror of horrors for a 10 year old!) and Man has this weird bump on the side of his neck. We went to the doctor today and everyone seems to be fine.

My GS troop had a pancake breakfast at Applebee's Saturday morning and let me say, if you don't eat at Applebee's you really should. They do these breakfasts just about every Saturday for groups who want to earn money. They sent me the template for the tickets by e-mail, I printed the tickets and we sold them for $5. We showed up at 7:45 Saturday, served the plates and drinks, and bussed the tables. For about 2.5 hours of work we earned $335!! This is the way they give back to the community, and I encourage you to support them.

Friday and Saturday nights, Darlin spent the night with different friends. Of course, there was no getting to bed on time, so Sunday night, she was a MESS! They are taking achievement tests this week and for weeks we've been getting e-mails and notes about how they need plenty of sleep and a good breakfast each day so they'll perform well. Monday morning was not pretty.

She was all whiny and grumpy and the breakfast I prepared wasn't what she wanted. To top it all off, we were out of milk, and this is what occurred in my kitchen...

Darlin: We don't have any milk???? (in the most grating, whiny voice you can imagine)

Me: No, baby, I'll get some today after school.

Darlin: So there's no milk for breakfast?

Me: No, honey. There's juice if you'd like.

Darlin: (beginning to cry) We're supposed to have a good breakfast for the SAT's.

Me: I know Darlin. You'll be fine. I'll get milk after school today.

Darlin: (sobbing now)How am I supposed to think without MILK????

People, it was all I could do not to bust out laughing in her face. Even as I put her to bed that night, we were talking about it, and she was cracking up! "Did I REALLY say that?" Yes, dear, you were hysterical!

These are the days of our lives.

My Jewabug and Buddyroe came down with the poison ivy too!!

It was bad.

I bet there was a lot of vines on those hills they were playing on.

But they had the time of their lives!!

Way to go on the b'fast!!

Oh no! They got poison ivy? Mine had it at the beginning of March, and it ended in a steroid. I really hate the stuff. I can't believe mine didn't get nailed again...maybe they are immune...yeah right.
It took us almost a week to recover from camping. I don't know why it takes it out of you so bad!
