What a bah-gin'
I got my hair colored last week and WOW!! I never get over the SHOCKING PRICE OF BEAUTY! I won't post the amount since I don't want my husband to disown me and my mother to weep and wail and wonder how she could have ever raised a child so careless with the money.
The fact is, I waited 39 years to start having my hair colored. You notice I said HAVING MY HAIR COLORED. When I was in high school, I discovered Summer Blonde. It has worked all these years with the sun or the heat from the hair dryer. Until last fall. And the mousy brownness of it all...I JUST COULDN'T STAND IT ANY LONGER.
I fought really hard to keep the blonde I had in childhood, and I mean white blonde. Another reason it's so awful to be mousy or dishwater or any of those other lovely words used to describe those of us who've gone from blonde to brown. But last fall, I'd had enough.
I had actually been preparing Mr. Disty for months that it was coming and it was gonna cost more than the average compact car. But he still complains when I tell him that's where I'm going. So, I started thinking of some way to cut the cost, and lo and behold, there's a Paul Mitchell cosmetology school right here in lil' ole Alabammy. (don't know why the country slang came out...tension breaker...had to be done. (Name that movie, anyone?))
I got on the phone and called to find out about their pricing. It's less than half of what I paid at the salon! And if they mess it up, they have to fix it! Woo hoo! That's where I'll be going next time!
Maybe I'll even post about it!
