Sorry...I couldn't help myself! Hee, hee!

Mr. Disty sent me this...

Bush Asking for $700 Billion Bailout of Auburn Football Program

WASHINGTON—Struggling to stave off football catastrophe, the Bush administration on Wednesday laid out a radical bailout plan with a jaw-dropping price tag: a takeover of a half-trillion dollars or more in an attempt to pay all of Auburn's existing offensive coordinators' buyouts that they still owe.

It's a task that is daunting and has struck fear in the eyes of many on the plains, but if successful it could possibly get Auburn's football program to a bowl game.

Relieved fans sent merchandise sales soaring at Anders bookstore. Toomer's Drug Store experienced a complete resurgence in sales the day before on rumors that the federal action was afoot.

A grim-faced President Bush acknowledged risks to taxpayers in what would be the most sweeping collegiate football intervention to rescue a failing football program since the '70s. But Bush declared, "The risk of not acting would be far higher. What is happening on the plains is nothing that resembles the game of football, and we have a moral obligation to clean up the mess."

A new find

Darlin has recently taken a liking to going grocery shopping with me. Normally, I try not to take any of the kiddos. I'll end up buying more than I want and the boys tend to drive me crazy asking for everything they see. But, Darlin is actually a helper at the store.

She found something a few months ago which we've grown to really love as a family. It's Bis*quick Complete Cheese-Garlic biscuit mix.

It comes in a pouch and all you have to do is add water. They're ready in 10 minutes. So easy and DE-LICIOUS!

Try them for yourselves!

On copying Gayle...

Have you ever thought about how much "crud" your kids bring home from school? Let's face it, it's Fall - the leaves are changing, the temps are cooling off and the germs are spreading! I've never had as many colds in a years time than since I had Darlin in 1997.

When we were talking about trying to have a baby (the first time), I was doing a lot of research about herbs and vitamins and our health. I took several herbs before, during and after pregnancy which I fully believe helped me to have three enjoyable pregnancies and deliveries.

After babies, I quit taking anything regularly, but still remained interested in herbs. I take Echinacea & Goldenseal when I feel the first twinge of a raspy throat with a cold, and for several years now, have strongly recommended this to anyone with or catching a cold. It really helps reduce the duration of a cold.

A couple of months ago, I was at the chiropractor. I was catching a cold at the time, and Doc recommended Emer Gen-C as a way to STOP the progression of a cold. Emer Gen-C has a ton of vitamin C (1667% of your daily allowance). You drop the pill into 4 ounces of water and it fizzes (like Alka-Seltzer!). Then you drink it. Done. Do this three times a day and NO MORE COLD SYMPTOMS! I couldn't believe it. The only sign I had after doing this for four days was a bit of hoarseness, like the cold had settled in my vocal chords. But I never felt bad...no stopped up nose, no runny nose, no sneezing...it was a MIRACLE!

I'm not getting paid for this, though I would take a small ($100,000) stipend for mentioning it on my blog, but I have to tell the world! You've gotta try this if you start feeling that raspy feeling in your throat.

How about you? Do you have any home or natural remedies that you love? I know Gayle does!

**Knock, Knock** Anybody out there?

Well, I realize it's been weeks since I posted, but it's still the Facebook thing! Sheesh. I've decided to limit my FB time to after the kids go to bed. I just end up spending too much time there.

I have been READING other blogs though. For instance, Reformed Grits has issued an invitation that I would heartily accept were it not for the COST of moving to said island!

And Boomama has asked a thought provoking question, which I will attempt to answer here.

Things that make me happy:

1. Jesus
2. Laughing with Mr. Disty
3. Girlfriends who "get" me
4. Seeing good triumph over evil
5. The effect Classical Christian education is having on my children
6. A tall Mocha Frappuccino Light
7. Snuggles with Buster
8. Reading a good book
9. Sitting on the beach under an umbrella
10. Weekends away with Mr. Disty
11. Singing
12. Discovering a good, new Christian musician
13. Blue Bell Lemon ice cream
14. Music by David Crowder Band
15. Chocolate covered cream filled from Krispy Kreme
16. Volunteering at the school
17. Hearing my kids belly laugh...with each other
18. Seeing my kids smile after success
19. Chocolate covered raisins

I'm praising God with Lora Lynn at Vitafamiliae.

And Gayle, I don't think you made a donkey of yourself. And I love the eyebrows on BOTH OF YOU!

Hopefully, I can P-U-L-L myself away from the FB long enough to try some lame posts for the two of you who read here!
